Guide
Track Apple Pay spending automatically on iPhone
Tap to pay as usual and the purchase is already in your budget: merchant, amount and card, logged in the background. No bank login, and your records stay on your iPhone.
How it works
Apple Wallet can run a Shortcuts automation every time you pay with your iPhone. Kachingz comes with a ready-made shortcut for that automation, so each tap to pay is recorded as a purchase, even while your phone is locked.
Set it up in a few minutes
- Install Kachingz from the App Store.
- In the app, tap your profile picture, then Shortcut setup.
- Follow the guide to add the Apple Wallet automation with the included shortcut.
- Pay as normal. Each purchase appears in Activity with an Undo, in case you want it gone.
What gets recorded
- Merchant, amount and card from the payment.
- A category, remembered per merchant: correct it once and Kachingz uses your choice next time.
- Overseas purchases converted to your home currency at that day's reference rate, with the original amount kept beneath it.
Cash and other payments
Anything you don't pay with Apple Pay, add by hand: tap Add in the tab bar, enter the amount and the shop, and save. It takes a few seconds.
Then see what's left
Every purchase feeds Available to spend: your tracked balance, minus bills due before payday and money you've set aside. Budgets, a spending calendar and a companion cat who keeps count with you do the rest.
